The Chronite Invasion

Well, I thought it was going to be a normal break. Boy was I wrong! I didn't realize that the Chronites were approaching Earth, at my location! So there I was watching a movie, eating lunch and petting my dog, Tank. That's when the power went out. No worries, I thought to myself, I should read. There's still enough daylight. Then the sun seemed to go out; everything got darker and took on a sepia shade. Okay, I thought to myself, no reading. My friend wanted me to call him I'll do that. When I reached my phone, however, the batteries were dead, which was strange because I could have sworn that they were fully charged this morning, and I hadn't used it since...

That's when they finally showed up. Humanoid figures in the sort of sci-fi suits you would find in an awesome game or movie, like Halo. The suits' plating was dark gray with a sort of sepia tone to it, even without the sepia filter over everything. Their visors were solid black, and I couldn't see their faces. They carried blasters of a sort I'de never seen before. Pipes and wires seemed to strangle them, like ivy with no leaves. Vein-like things were carved along the sides. One of the things like humans turned its head to me. "We are Chronites," it announced, "we have come to speak with any leader of this planet."
"Well, why did you come here," I asked, "I'm no leader."
"We came to ask directions. We understand that the UN is the world government now."
"Yes, but I have no idea where to find them."
"Very well then. MEN! Fall back, this one can't help us."

Then they left. Weirdest break ever.
